Language schools if I cast My Mind back about 25 or so years you had it great. In those days language teachers were like Knights in shining armour offering solutions to make businesses internationally more successful with language competence You had a big market with correspondingly high margins for language training. In the last few weeks and months I spent a lot of time talking to people who run language schools and the inevitable has happened, the language school market has got much more difficult, its become a badland of price pressure. Unless you have found a secret of differentiation in your offering or you have been able to ensure the right quality of training you have experienced that it has become all about the price. If you are now thinking know this doesn’t apply to me that’s because you have indeed found some way to differentiate or you are offering the right quality
A saturated market with such price pressure is not a nice place to be. Let me emphasize at this point it’s not your fault market change that’s just the Way It Is.
So Price pressure seems to be increasing and you’ve been wondering what you can do about it how you can differentiate by expanding yoir portfolio.
From what I gather from speaking to language school owners, many of you have already worked out what one answer is and you shifted your focus to intercultural training as a means of differentiation to offer something new. also because you’re teachers in your language school are been asked already about intercultural matters during language lessons.
The trouble is intercultural training isn’t the same as language training. So what is the solution how can you best go intercultural? By learning it properly, by enabling your language teachers to participate in an intercultural trainer programme. Many of you have considered this, however it is of course and Investment. It’s worth looking at our intercultural business trainer moderator program for two reasons a) it is a skills based competence development programme in the space of 14 days spread over 6 months befriended learning we will buy your trainers and your teachers to increase the quality of their training and to deliver intercultural training b) if you are in Germany it is quite possible that you can qualify for up to 100% funding for this as we are an accredited trade organisation.
